About Troop 15...

 

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to help guide young people to make moral and ethical choices over the course of their lifetimes  by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Troop 15 is a scout-led troop with a strong outdoor program. We are located in Merrimack, NH. Our troop is chartered by St. John Neumann Church at 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH. We meet most Tuesday nights at 7pm. Boy Scouts are open to boys aged 11 to 18. For more details on Troop 15, please contact our Scoutmaster at scoutmaster@merrimack15.mytroop.us.

Our Troop currently has about 20 Scouts. Some of the activities over the last year include camping, canoeing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, and skiing. We've also got a great group of energetic, trained, experienced, dedicated, caring and patient men and women adult leaders that mentor the scouts along the path to Eagle.

Merit Badge Selections for Summer Camp -- Start your Preparations!

Scouts, each of you needs to select merit badges for our summer camp week. I have uploaded the Program Areas information from the Leader's Guide to our web site here. Review the different merit badges and use the time in July to complete any pre-requisites before arriving at camp. You will need to bring your selections to me at the pre-camp meeting on July 19.

Looking for help with Chris Bourn Eagle Project Fundraiser!

Life Scout Chris Bourn will be holding his Eagle Project fundraiser in this coming week! He is looking for help on Thu night, 5pm-8pm, or Fri night, 5pm-8pm at the Market Basket in Nashua at 34 Northwest Blvd. Scouts will be selling car wash tickets for the fundraiser on Sat, Jul 1, at the Tollhouse Preschool on DW Highway in Merrimack. The car wash itself is 8am-2pm that Saturday. If you can help out Chris, please email him at bourn.paploo@gmail.com or text him at 603-620-1247. These dates have been added to the troop calendar.

Court of Honor, Tuesday, 6/20

This is a reminder that we are holding our end-of-year Court of Honor on Tuesday, 6/20, at 7pm at SJN. Please bring a snack to share for refreshments afterward. We will be award event patches, recognizing rank, welcome new scouts, and review the yard sale. This will be our last official meeting of this scouting year.

Finishing up our year

Couple of notes: PLC is Tuesday night. We will be planning the upcoming CoH and voting for the Alex Rossman Scouting Spirit recipient. There is no troop meeting next week, 6/13 due to graduations and school activities. Our last meeting for this year will be 6/20, the Court of Honor. 

Please sign-up for your Yard Sale working times!

This is a reminder to please get on the website calendar and sign up for your shifts for the yard sale. We are expecting scouts to join us Friday after school to finish with setup, then all-hands-on-deck for Friday night, our busiest time. Scouts are expected to work two shifts on Saturday and return for clean up (all-hands-on-deck again). 

All ASMs and PLC members: Calendar Planning meeting, Tues, 6pm!

All ASMs and PLC members, this is a reminder that we have our annual calendar planning meeting at SJN at 6pm. Pizza will be provided. This is a critically important meeting for planning our calendar next season. Patrol Leaders: please make sure to reach out to your patrols to get feedback on what they want to see on the calendar next year. APLs: you should be attending this meeting as well. Historian, Scribe, Chaplain's Aide, Sergeant @ Arms--all are expected to attend this meeting!
